Jacqueline Zoner Mary Ward of Rossetti Court Grantham has passed away peacefully at home on Sunday 8th January 2023 aged 78 years young surrounded by her loving family. Jackie had an open door right till the very end, and her family enjoyed welcoming old and new faces to reminisce about the good & bad times they all shared together.

Jackie was born in Grantham on 1st March 1944, the youngest daughter of Patrick and Ivy Ward. Jackie leaves her children Frances, Mandy, Donna, Lee & Charlotte, joining Annette & Nicky. A well-loved, forever treasured Gran to 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Her interests were having a cheeky tipple, painting by numbers, crocheting, bingo, jigsaws and caring for her pets. Over the years Jackie has had a various jobs and was well loved & known locally. Wonderful memories we all share that we will treasure forever.

In accordance with Jackie’s wishes there will be no funeral service. Donations in Jackie’s memory are being collected for Marie Curie & St Barnabas. They supported her greatly to remain at home, showed Jackie and her family that cared for her the upmost love & care which we will never be able to repay

John Smith of Dry Doddington died at his home aged 83 on the 23 December 2022. A fiercely private, independent and kind man, he attended Long Bennington School followed by a fully indentured apprenticeship as a fitter and turner at Aveling-Barford in Grantham. He was one of the last National Service entrants into the RAF, qualifying as an electrical engineer. He was delighted to have helped service Vulcan bombers stationed at RAF Marnham in Norfolk.

Since childhood he was most happy when fixing mechanical and electrical equipment. Instrumental in the local design and build of the first local racing carriage, he went on to start his small repair garage later known as Smith & Fenton. The business became very well known serving the local community and local businesses of all types with their mechanical and electrical needs. He only retired in March 2022 to tend to his beloved garden. He is survived by his brother Brian, niece Alison, nephew Martyn and their children Aden and Maisie.

In accordance with John’s wishes there will be no funeral service, however all enquiries are via Price & Son Family Funeral Directors.
