It is with a heavy heart that after 35 years together and a lifetime of memories we announce the passing of my best friend, incredible husband, inspiration, partner in crime, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and dogfather, Kenneth Burton.

Ken was an all around good guy and put himself out for so many others. He hosted many a village party in Ingoldsby and greeted 1’000s of guests in our home at both Halloween and Christmas. He truly was loved by many and leaves behind a gaping void that we will never be able to fill. Miss you so much, with love always and forever xxxx

Funeral service to take place at Heanor Cemetery Chapel on Thursday 31st October at 11:30am followed by burial in the Cemetery, flowers welcome, donations in Memory of Ken are being collected for Marie Curie and Save Our Spaniel’s and can be given on the day, please wear what you feel most comfortable in when attending the service to celebrate Ken’s life.   1. Thank you for looking after my beloved partner and hero. I know he would be super chuffed with how you are caring for him and the outpouring of live that there has been.
    They say time heals but that’s hard to believe at the moment. There is certainly a void in my heart that will last forever. I’m so grateful that he was my life for so many years. With love always and forever. We love you more, Ian, Howie, Cori and Dill.

    He’d make you laugh with his stories, welcome you to his home and host a great party.
    Uncle Ken will be sadly missed but lives on through the great memories we all have X

  6. It was an honour for us to be invited to spend time with you both on many occasions. Ken was an amazing cook and gave me many top cooking tips. He was a great support to Robin and I at the start of our relationship and gave me so much advice. We shall miss him and will always regret no getting to see him in recent years.   7. Uncle Ken will be missed dearly and loved always. He along with Ian knew how to throw the best parties, spoil us all with his love of cooking and make us all laugh with his stories.
    His spirit of Christmas was most certainly my favourite thing of all.

  8. Uncle Ken you always lit up any room or party you attended. I will never forget that laughter it was so contagious. I will never forget the support and the Sunday dinners you and Ian provided me when I first moved down south it meant such a lot to know you were just down the road. Rest In Peace I will miss you xxx

  9. We had the privilege of meeting Ken when he and Ian moved to Ingoldsby. We had a lot of laughs with you both. The work you both put in decorating your house for Christmas and Halloween was amazing.

  10. You were so lucky to have such a kind and gentle man in your life…of course, you know that!
    We only knew Ken for a few short years, but we soon came to love the happy, smiling, straight-talking, generous and warm, kind-hearted spirit that he was.
    Those kind of memories will live on in the hearts of his friends and family. Spaniels, Halloween, Christmas, and Meat-and-Potato Pie will always remind us of Ken Burton.
